The Garden of the Gods Park contains red sandstone hogback formations, similar to the Red Rocks south of Denver. The name Colorado is said to come from the color of this sandstone. It is a Registered National Natural Landmark located in Colorado Springs, an hour’s drive south of Embassy Suites Denver Tech Center.

Take a guided horseback ride through the park or register at the Visitor & Nature Center for a technical rock climb. Get there early for the daily Naturalist led walk through the park; learn fascinating fact and lore regarding wildflowers, rattlesnakes and gold-seekers. For the hikers: there are miles of trails, easy and moderate, taking you through different areas of the park. Maps are available at the Visitor and Nature Center.
Be sure to bring your camera because Garden of the Gods Park is a plethora of inspired photo opportunities. You can get great photos throughout the park. Try the Siamese Twins Trail for a unique view of Pikes Peak framed by this beautiful rock formation.
